Badrinath
Badrinath is one of the most sacred destinations of Char Dham. It is the source of divinity for devotees.Badrinathoccupies a place in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand in northern India. The Badrinath shrine is the most revered pilgrimage destination for the pilgrims in all over the India.
Kedarnath Kedarnath is the most inaccessible among the four Char Dham pilgrimage destinations. It takes almost 2 days to complete the journey from Gangotri. Kedarnath shrine is held in extreme regard for being counted among the twelve jyotirlingas of Hindu god Lord Shiva. The Kedarnath shrine is located at an elevation of 3,584 m above the sea level.

It is surrounded by mountains on all sides and lies in close the Indo-China border. The Bandarpunch Mountain is at a height of 6315 m and lies north of Yamunotri.

Badrinath-Temple

Badrinath Temple

Badrinath is the most sacred Dham of India. It is located at an elevation of 3,133mt above sea level in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand state. This Dham was established by Adi Shankaracharya in the 9th century. The deity of Badrinath temple is Lord Vishnu. The temple is situated on the right bank of the holy Alaknanda River. The temple and the town is a riot of colours and the colourful 'Singh-Dwara' at the entrance is very artistic creation. Every year millions of tourists and devotees visit this sacred place from May to October month. The temple remains closed during winter months as the region is prone to heavy snowfall.

Kedarnath Temple

Kedarnath is the most inaccessible among the four chardham pilgrimage destinations. It takes almost 2 days to complete the journey from Gangotri. Kedarnath shrine is held in extreme regard for being counted among the twelve jyotirlingas of Hindu god Lord Shiva. The Kedarnath shrine is located at an elevation of 3,584 m above the sea level. Surroundings of the Kedarnath look so attractive surrounded by beautiful mountain ranges of the Himalayas. Mandakini River originates from near the Kedarnath Temple in Uttarakhand. It is close to the IndoChinese border.

Gangotri is a highly revered destination for the Hindu pilgrims. Gangotri is also a part of chardham Yatra, located at an altitude of 3,048 m above the sea level.Gangotri is 300 km away from Dehradun city in Uttarakhand. The origin of Bhagirathi (Ganga) River is at Gaumukh glacier which is at a distance of 18kms from Gangotri and one must cover the distance on foot. Gangotri temple remains closed during winters as the region is prone to heavy snowfall.

The source of River Yamuna,Yamunotri is also one of the four sites of Char Dham pilgrimage. Yamunotri is located at a height of 3293m above sea level and located in Uttarkashi district. It is surrounded by mountains on all sides and lies in close the Indo-China border. The Bandarpunch Mountain is at a height of 6315 m and lies north of Yamunotri. The trek to Yamunotri temple is a full day one with a 6km walk from Hanuman Chatti and 4km from Janki Chatti. The trek is usually dominated by rugged peaks and dense forests. You can have horses and palanquins on rent. The Yamunotri temple is usually the first stop-over for the Char Dham Yatra.
